Inge Oskam has been a professor at Faculty of Technology of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences since 2007. She leads the research group circular design and business consisting of PhD’s, design researchers and business researchers with expertise on circular design methods, systems engineering, business modelling and impact assessment. Using a research through design approach the research groups aims to advance the knowledge around circular product design and business model strategies, focusing on rethinking and repurposing, and circular systems engineering for closing urban material cycles. Their applied design research lead to several tools, prototypes, professional publications and scientific papers that aim to contribute to the transition towards a circular economy.

Oskam has a background in Industrial Design Engineering and obtained a PhD at VU University on collaborative business modelling for sustainability and the role of stakeholder interaction therein. In addition to her professorial role, Oskam is programme director of Circollab, member of several advisory boards related to the Dutch knowledge and innovation agenda on Circular Economy (KIA-CE) and leader of the circular economy theme within the UAS’s Energy & Circularity Dialogue Table.
