
Dr. ir. Liliya Terzieva is an expert in creativity management and sustainable tourism development with a distinguished career in designing and implementing strategies for target groups in Bulgaria’s Leisure Sector. She has played a key role in developing creativity and management strategies under notable programs, including the PHARE programme (2005-2006) for the Municipality of Teteven and the Active Labour Market Services Programme for the Municipalities of Belogradchik, Targoviste, and Kyustendil (2006-2008).
In 2008, Dr. Terzieva contributed to the elaboration of Bulgaria’s National Strategy for Sustainable Tourism Development for the State Tourism Agency, a milestone effort to drive sustainable practices in the tourism sector. Additionally, she crafted creativity management strategies for key organizations, such as the Bulgarian Hotel and Restaurant Association and the National Tourism Research Institute, while working closely with local NGOs and tourism service providers.
Dr. Terzieva has extensive experience in adult education, designing short-term, interactive training programs incorporating innovative approaches such as result-oriented education, learning-by-doing, role-playing techniques, and on-the-job training. As a Key Expert in the PHARE Technical Assistance project (2008-2010), she collaborated with WYG International and WYG Bulgaria to develop training curricula and state educational standards for 30 vocations, also training 400 teachers across Bulgaria in modern educational technologies and interactive training methodologies.
Her expertise extends to establishing new vocational training institutions, where she has been involved in business planning and ensuring sustainable operations. Dr. Terzieva’s impactful contributions to vocational training and tourism have solidified her as a thought leader in these fields, championing creativity, innovation, and sustainability.
