
Peter Troxler is a professor of Revolution in Manufacturing Industries. Additionally, he is active in the projects Business Model Innovation in Creative Industries and Maker Education. Peter is also involved in the research line New Entrepreneurship for Rotterdam (KCD).
Within these roles, Peter conducts research into the impact of new, direct digital production technologies and methods (such as 3D printing and FabLabs) on design and manufacturing. These technologies and methods are leading to the emergence of a new type of manufacturing industry: local, distributed, and networked. The existing industry is also utilizing these new technologies and methods: Smart Industry.
