Applied Design Research as a Bridge between the Sciences and Art
Applied Design Research as a Bridge between the Sciences and Art
In the second year of NADR's existence, the researchers emphasised the importance of a holistic approach. Applied design research should move beyond simplistic contradictions and promote collaboration, integration, and ambiguity. They address the complexity of integrating the interests of multiple stakeholders, such as users, society, the researcher, the designer and many others. They explore how applied design research can function as a bridge between different fields of knowledge, the sciences and the arts.
An exhibition was held during the Dutch Design Week in the Klokgebouw. The projects exhibited were documented in a publication.
